MISSION STATEMENT

To provide a Christ-centered, Bible-based, service-oriented experience that will motivate students to be individual thinkers and to provide excellence in education that will lay a foundation for success and service in a modern world with Christ as their character role model.

PHILOSOPHY

Mauna Loa School’s existence is based on the concept of Christian education, designed to foster the development of the mental, physical, social, and spiritual aspects of human character.  We believe that the Bible is the ultimate rule of faith and conscience and therefore utilize its principles in establishing the educational environment at Mauna Loa School.

PURPOSE

Mauna Loa School is a member of the worldwide educational system of Seventh-Day Adventists.  It is fully accredited and is operated by the Hilo, Puna, and Honokaa Seventh-day Adventist Churches to provide a balanced Christian education wherein each student experiences opportunities which promote development of character.
