High School

Mauna Loa School offers a quality distance education curriculum through Griggs University.  The program is accredited and approved by the Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and offers both College Preparatory and Basic High School Diploma tracks.

The high school supervisor administers the program under the guidance of the principal and school board and provides individualized guidance to students in all subjects.  The supervisor provides an environment where students can complete the coursework in a timely manner.  He/She also coordinates with the school faculty and staff to involve the students in school wide programs, such as chapel, community outreach, outdoor school, physical education, music and art.

The program is offered on an "as needed" basis depending on the number of qualified applicants each year.  Students participating in the program have traditionally used it as a "transitional" or "preparatory" year before continuing on to 10th grade in local public or private high school programs; however, the program can accommodate students through the 12th grade.

For more information regarding the high school program or to submit an application, please contact the school principal, at 935-1545.
